Sports

Do you like sports?  I like sports.  But just some sports, not all of them.  I like Soccer, Hockey, Football, and Baseball.  I'm one of those types of fans that sits and watches games and wonder to myself WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING?  No, I know the games and know the rules.  I mean, I wonder what the heck the management is doing.  Everyone loves to back a winning team and few have the heart to stick with a losing team.

I was a diehard Cowboys fan until Jerry Jones bought the team and then fired coach Landry in the most callous and humiliating way possible.  Well, that killed that team.  In more ways than one.  So, I switched my loyalties to the Texans.  I knew they were an expansion team and it would take a while to make it into a contender.  Then they went to the playoffs!  The whole time I kept telling my son that Matt Schaub would not perform as needed to get them into super bowl contention.  See??  Yes??  I think I was right.  We'll see what the season has in store for them this fall.  Hopefully they will be back on top.  Everyone loves to back a winning team and few have the heart to stick with a losing team.  But I tell ya, by the end of last season, I was definitely thinking hard about becoming a Broncos fan.

I'm also a fan of the Texas Rangers.  Man, I love that team.  Until lately, when they lost/traded away a lot of their good players.  Some of them I could see being traded.(C.J. Wilson and Josh Hamilton for starters)  But why trade Ian Kinsler, Michael Young,  David Murphy?  Good solid players that produced!!  After the management traded all those guys away, I told my dad that the only way they can survive is if they come up with a good pitching staff.  Well, good luck on that.  Yes, they have some good ones, but they are all injured and were coming into the season (with the exception of Yu Darvish).  What is up with this???  Can't you guys draft good pitchers?  What's the deal, lack of funds?  I'll tell you what I think the deal is....they wouldn't listen to Nolan Ryan so he wound up leaving the management and they depended on Jon Daniels.  I hear so much about what a wiz kid he is, but now I don't think I believe it.  Or is it the pitching coach, Mike Maddux?  Is he really a good coach?  I think they need to get down to the nitty gritty of the problems on the team and do what it takes to create a winning team.  The fans had a whiff of success and we want more!  Particularly NOT what we've seen so far this year.  Something is off in that locker room and it needs to be fixed.  We'll see what the second half of the season has to show.  I hope they turn around and become a winning team again.

I'd love to hear what you think....
